Baby Boomers’ Future?

Sep 23, 2013 by

Baby Boomers are now reaching age 65 at the rate of 8,000 per day, and many (most?) don’t have the resources to retire. For people the age of the gentleman in this Bloomberg video, it’s too late to start saving. I admire very much Mr. Palome’s attitude and energy—a model for all of us to emulate. But the main lesson for those still relatively early in their working careers is to save early and often. Battered by the loss of his wife to an accident and the 2008 meltdown, you have to feel for the guy, though I don’t get the sense he feels he deserves or wants any sympathy. At least he has good health. What’s the fate of those like Mr. Palome but who can’t work?

If the video doesn’t work or has vanished, here’s a direct link.
